Hall of Fame

Throughout American philatelic history, the great philatelists have often been honored in a number of very special ways. There is the John N Luff Life Achievement Award given since 1940 by the American Philatelic Society. There is the Alfred F. Lichtenstein Medal bestowed upon one major philatelist each year by the Collectors Club in New York. And there is the APS Hall of Fame which has honored, posthumously, scores of philatelists since 1941, most of whom were collectors; some were dealers. The American Stamp Dealer Hall of Fame serves to substantially augment these other honors in our hobby by recognizing the true greats in the American stamp dealing trade.
